How Spray Foam Insulation Staten Island Works
Spray Foam Insulation Staten Island insulates and air seals homes across the borough, from Victorian houses on the North Shore hills to post-1964 ranches, raised ranches and townhouses in the middle of the island and beach bungalows along the South Shore. We spray closed-cell and open-cell foam, blow in cellulose and fiberglass, insulate existing and open walls, and take out old insulation that is wet, moldy or full of debris.
Every job starts with a visit. We go into the attic or crawl space, look at the basement and rim joist, and check the walls where we can. We measure what is already there and note its condition. On Staten Island we also ask about water: whether the house took water in Hurricane Sandy, whether the basement gets damp after heavy rain, and whether the lot sits in a low part of the island. That history changes which materials make sense below the first floor.
Then we write it down. Each area on the quote lists the material, the thickness or depth, the target R-value and the price. If blown-in would do the job for less than foam on an open attic floor, the quote says so. If two approaches would both work, you see both.
How we work
- Visit first. No price until someone has looked at the space.
- Seal, then insulate. Gaps around pipes, wires, flues, top plates and rim joists get closed before new insulation hides them.
- Match the material to the spot. Closed-cell where moisture and flooding are a concern, open-cell where air sealing and sound matter more, loose fill where depth is cheap.
- Protect the house. Floors and belongings are covered, the work area is closed off and ventilated, and we tell you when it is safe to come back in.
- Nothing changes without your OK. Work starts after you approve the written quote, and any change is agreed in writing first.
